Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

Overview

Skew is designed with privacy as a default. The app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with third parties. Your data syncs privately between your own devices via iCloud.

Data stored on your device and iCloud

Skew stores the following data using Apple's SwiftData framework. Data syncs privately across your devices via iCloud and is only accessible through your Apple ID, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Microphone

Skew requests microphone access to detect your watch's ticking sound. Audio is processed entirely on-device to measure the beat rate. No audio is recorded to a file, stored externally, or transmitted anywhere.

Photo library

Skew requests photo library access so you can attach certificates, receipts, or other images to your watch records. Selected photos are stored in the app and sync via iCloud. They are never shared with third parties.

Network requests

Skew makes outbound network requests solely to obtain an accurate time reference for drift calculations. These requests are sent to:

These are standard NTP (Network Time Protocol) queries. No user data, device identifiers, or app data are included in these requests.

Analytics and tracking

Skew contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or any form of user tracking.

Third-party SDKs

Skew uses only Apple's built-in frameworks. No third-party code or SDKs are included.

Children

Skew is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
